Very well written, ma'am. Thank you. Those who would promote unicorn farts and fairy dust to power the world need to consider your definition: conservation is the wise use of natural resources. Renewables do not fit within this definition.
Ideally, just as commercial agriculture has increased yields over time, permaculturalists can design more and better “guilds” that provide intertwined sets of plants that provide agricultural outputs that don’t depend on the plant, add chemicals to kill “weeds” and “pests”, wait, mow, repeat of the annuals. One of the things I like about the permaculture ideals is that it’s trying to understand natural modes/plants/animals and design for abundance. Now the actual successes of the ideal are still very much a work in progress ….. ;)

Thanks again.
You're welcome, and thanks for always chiming in!
Have you heard of “Permaculture” where humanity tries to design a permanent agriculture (vs. the current annuals: Corn, Wheat, Soybeans)?
I have. I'm not sure what to fully make of it.
