Good evening,
For you newbies out there, welcome to Outsider on the Inside. I hope this dispatch from in and around the nation’s capital on underreported topics finds you well.
If you’re just discovering my musings, here’s a backgrounder and make sure we’re connected on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.

The Musk-Trump breakup is the talk of the town. Politically, this isn’t helpful - but at least the memes are hilarious.

A Wild Week in Washington, D.C.
After a busy May, I get to reward myself with a more relaxing June.
On that token, I kicked off the new month attending my first stadium concert show since COVID: Post Malone’s DC-area stop on his Big Ass Stadium Tour. Grateful I went with my friend Taylor.

Truthfully, I never imagined myself enjoying Posty’s music. Rap isn’t my favorite. I’m hardly a fan. Yet, his foray into country music with last year’s F1 Trillion album impressed this skeptic. The dude, while quirky, has some mad pipes.

Here’s Post Malone singing his duet with Tim McGraw - “Wrong Ones”- solo.
Jelly Roll opened his Landover, Maryland show with many familiar tunes (“Save Me”, “Need a Favor”, “Liar”). His redemption story is nothing short of amazing. He even testified before Capitol Hill in January 2024. Looks are very deceiving. He’s a damn good singer.

Here’s a clip I recorded of him singling “I’m Not Okay.”
And today, alongside some coworkers, I made my third White House visit - first Trump 2.0 one - to watch Marine One take off. President Trump made an appearance but didn’t talk with members of the press or attendees.
Pretty cool experience. Watch for yourself.

In my nearly 13 years of living in the Beltway, I’m lucky to have experiences like this. I don’t take things for granted.
Have a great weekend!
