Good morning,
For you newbies out there, welcome to Outsider on the Inside. I hope this dispatch from in and around the nation’s capital on underreported topics finds you well.
If you’re just discovering my musings, here’s a backgrounder and make sure we’re connected on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
I’m on vacation this week but here’s a brief update for you today.
300 District of Conservation Episodes Recorded
This week I published my 300th episode of District of Conservation—my conservation-themed podcast.
Since launching the show four years ago this month, I’ve been privileged to interview Members of Congress, Governors, Cabinet Members, media personalities, nonprofit leaders, and other newsmakers.
The podcast has amassed over 70,000 listens and downloads. And it’s continuing to grow in 2022.
To our listeners: THANK YOU! And thank you to our sponsor, my client CFACT, for backing it these last couple of years.
Next week I’ll be back from vacation and we will dive deep into several pressing news stories and topics that warrant discussion. Here’s what I’ll be focusing on:
USDA revoking its import ban on wild bird game harvest
Patagonia CEO’s announcement about Earth being the company’s sole shareholder
USFWS announcing new public land openings on condition lead ammo and tackle are barred
Credit card companies adopting Merchant Category Codes for gun purchases and how they won’t stop crimes involving guns
Environmentalists exploiting right whales to bar commercial lobster harvests and recreational fishing
Special Guest: Captain Dave Marciano, Wicked Tuna star and Angelica Seafoods Principal Owner
