This week, I learned we will be pausing the filming of new episodes of my longstanding CFACT “Conservation Nation” video series until summer 2025. Truthfully speaking, the series’ future could be uncertain beyond that due to some potential funding issues.
Early subscribers to this newsletter have become familiar with the series I co-produce with singer and filmmaker Madison Hughes. Since we started collaborating together in late 2019/early 2020, we have filmed 16 of 18 episodes together. Here’s our most recent report on hydroelectric dams in the Pacific Northwest’s Lower Snake River system.
From documenting how cows keep Florida (and America) green to bear conservation efforts in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, to exposing the dangers of green energy in Idaho to exploring the wilds of Alaska to see how resource development isn’t at odds with conservation, we’ve traveled far and wide to give viewers and supporters great impactful content. Our reporting work has even landed on Fox News and led to policy changes in some states.
Madison and I would like to continue filming our series and will brainstorm ways how to proceed while it’s on hiatus. But if you’d like to financially support the series, you can contribute to CFACT, if you desire, and request it be allocated to the program.
I don’t normally ask these kinds of things. I’m reluctant to do so. And it gave me pain writing this plea.
I’m grateful to everyone who has participated in, shared, or supported our scrappy project. Its future may be uncertain - for now - but I have no doubt about a mid-to-late 2025 comeback.
Thank you for your consideration!
Best,
Gabriella
