30th Anniversary of the USSR’s Collapse
On Wednesday, I commemorated the 30th anniversary of the dissolution of the Soviet Union at an event in Washington, D.C., hosted by the Heritage Foundation and Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation.

WATCH: Interview with Author & Energy Expert Alex Epstein
I recently spoke with author, speaker, and energy expert Alex Epstein about why fossil fuels are needed for continued human flourishing and other related topics.
Alex Epstein is a philosopher and energy expert who argues that “human flourishing” should be the guiding principle of industrial and environmental progress. He is the author of the New York Timesbestseller The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels.
Alex has made his moral case for fossil fuels at dozens of campuses, including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and Duke (his alma mater). He has also spoken to employees and leaders at dozens of Fortune 500 energy companies, including ExxonMobil, Chevron, Phillips 66, Valero, Enbridge, and TransCanada.
Alex, known for his willingness to debate anyone, anytime, has publicly debated leading environmentalist organizations such as Greenpeace, the Sierra Club, and 350.org over the morality of fossil fuel use.
In his speeches and consulting work he helps companies take his pro-human messaging and use it to neutralize attackers, turn non-supporters into supporters, and turn supporters into champions. One of his major goals is to teach millions of employees in the fossil fuel industry to understand the value of what they do and how to communicate it.

Daily Caller: The Build Back Better Act’s Problematic Electric Vehicle Tax Credit
In the name of environmental justice, the Biden administration desires to give the federal government an outsized role in the production and sale of electric vehicles (EVs) and battery-powered cars.
The $1.75 trillion spending and tax bill, better known as the Build Back Better Act of 2021, is currently making its way through Congress and contains a provision to bolster the existing EV tax credit from $7,500 to $12,500. The current tax credit is non-refundable. The “Made-in-America” update, if adopted into law, would be refundable as a tax write-off or a cash rebate. It promises to “lower the cost of an electric vehicle that is made in America with American materials and union labor.”
If the beefier EV tax credit sounds too good to be true, it is.
